Kansas City Edition limited to 20,615 copies for volume 1 and 11,500 copies for volume 2. Inscription on half-title page of volume 1 reads "To H___ L. J___ with kindest regards from Harry Truman 1/5/56" Volume 2 is unsigned. Both volumes are in near fine condition showing only light general wear. Both volumes show light toning to block edges but are otherwise quite clean. Both DJs show sunning at spine and light wear along edges. Volume 1's jacket has a small amount of loss as a result of chipping on back and is in G/VG condition. Also included is a form letter from bookseller Frank Glenn sent to pre-order customers with the first volume telling buyer that Truman would be unable to sign all copies of the special edition, an invitation to an autographing party held at Hotel Muehlebach on Wed. Nov. 2nd, 1955 (not the date stated in Truman's signature of this copy) and a photograph of a man holding a book (presumably this one) under his arm, a woman, and Harry Truman together.
